Mental Illness such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and anxiety, drug addiction, and physical health issues including wounds and diseases are just a few of the struggles far too many veterans face upon returning to the safety of the homeland they fought for. Unfortunately, these issues are often hidden as the Soldier is a person trained rigorously to be the strongest individuals in their country and to them, to admit the need for help is to admit defeat.
These brave individuals do not stop fighting once they leave the military and sadly, many continue to lose their lives as they leave one enemy for another. “Those Who Came Home” is a digital wall dedicated to anyone who has served their country, but never fully returned home. It is a place for their story to be told and to raise awareness through them so others can learn that they are not alone, and that there is hope.
If you or someone you know has lost someone post-military service, please reach out to me or share my contact information with them. I can be reached at thosewhocamehome@gmail.com. I will send you questions to be answered. You can pick which questions you want to answer based on your comfort level. I will write the biography of your loved one from this information and post it to the wall with photos.
If you are a veteran and would like to share a positive message on our page, please send your NAME, RANK, BRANCH, and MESSAGE to the same e-mail address.
Thank you for supporting this project.
