Veterans Crisis Line (1-800-273-8255): The Veterans Crisis Line connects Veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring Department of Veterans Affairs responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Veterans and their loved ones can call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals is available.

Active Heroes: An organization dedicated to organizing events for veterans and military families to prevent veteran suicide.

Play for Your Freedom: Play for Your Freedom uses fitness and Veteran to Veteran – peer to peer support to help soldiers transition into civilian life. They offer a variety of programming from exercise workshops to fellowship visits spent with Veterans who cannot leave the hospital. Play for Your Freedom stretches from Long Island to Albany New York, along with Lyons and East Orange New Jersey VA’s. Visit their website to contact them about their upcoming events.

PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Vet 2 Vet Program of Putnam County: Open to any Putnam County, New York veteran of any era, Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Outreach Program of Putnam County connects veterans who have experienced and overcome post-service social and emotional challenges including PTSD, TBI, substance abuse, and other illnesses. It is our goal with this program to utilize that unique relationship from one vet to another to help foster a relationship and direct the veteran to any services they may need.

Awareness, Inc.: A non-punitive, non-judgmental educational program in Ulster County (New York) to keep adolescents informed about the dangers of substance abuse and the negative consequences that can result from decisions made under the influence. They help youth identify addiction. Youth in recovery share their experience and support. They currently have approximately 20 youth between the ages of 18 and 31 in solid recovery.
